Auckland Refugee CIH graduation

13 newly-arrived families from refugee backgrounds celebrated their graduation at the Wesley Community Centre on Sunday 19 May. Sharing their stories and their delightful children is always such a privilege for us and we are humbled by their determination to succeed and their dedication to a bright future in Aotearoa New Zealand. Tutor Angie Gibbons does such a great job, assisted by tech Grant Mcgregor and assistant Diana. We were joined by Ministry of Education Migrant Coordinator Parvathi Raghunathan to complete the graduation ceremony. Well done everyone!

Porirua Burmese Refugee Graduation 2013

21 Burmese families graduated in Porirua on 20 April after 30 hours of digital literacy lessons with tutor Peter Lynch. Graduation certificates were handed out by Ministry of Education’s Abdi Bihi and e-Learning Porirua Chair Graham Kelly. Other guests included Porirua trustee Wendy Betteridge and 2020 Communications Trustees Kim Humpherson and Michael Howden. Special thanks to Porirua Manager Tim Davies-Colley and assistant tutors Michael and Ibrahim and interpreters Titus and Renee.
But the stars of the show are the parents and children as they embrace the new experience of Digital Inclusion in their new lives in Aotearoa NZ. We wish them all the very best.
